"Every day is read a book day in my world. Wait...did you need to be told to celebrate a holiday by reading a book? Am I the only one who asked Santa for a library card?" #TeamNerdyBookworm
It's #NationalReadABookDay -- a perfect time to start telling everyone about the amazing authors and lucky readers who get to review thirty books in the thrilling event dubbed #BookGushOctober 📚What a great way to find new authors and get a wide variety of reviews from regular readers, right?
🙌 Thanks to Victoria Jayne for the invite to apply that arrived in her latest newsletter! ❤️ I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I'll be chosen to participate.
At the moment I've been keeping busy building a blog, entering contests, starting social media dedicated to A Goal (more on that later) and spending time with my lovies. The first site was too finicky and transferring a few posts over here while I try to stay focused has left little time to follow the huge number of authors sponsoring the gush. As they say, if you don't like something, don't complain. Change it. Trusting myself sooner rather than later has been a life-long work in progress but I'm getting there. So pardon the errors and changes that will be taking place here for a while. Think of it as a little home decor project. Hopefully, it won't turn out to be a major reconstruction nightmare.
Back to the book gush, I promise any review I ever put my name to will be my honest thoughts. Anyone who puts in the work to write a book doesn't want sugar blown up their butt. It takes some real guts and dedication to pour your soul into a project and then put it out into the world. Aside from the rare wall banger, there's always something good to offer along with true constructive criticism. I'm a Libra. Balance is in my DNA. Book lovers know their stuff so this should be fun. I'm also working my way through following the socials of the authors who are contributing their work and will be hash tagging them in my next few posts. Once that's done, I'll update here. Go all detective, use the links and hashtags here and follow them! You won't be sorry. Writers share the best content on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Tiktok. Indie writers have to work hard to promote their work. If you haven't already, show them some love on Amazon, Bookbub and Goodreads. It'll be like giving a hangry kid a cookie.
That's it for now. Fellow bookworms, it's time to #TellEveryoneAboutThem and light up their socials while we wait for the reviews. It's going to be bootiful.
