Hope Fire

My sister used to live in Hope, B.C. and I spent quite a bit of time there. It's a pretty little town, with a very laid back vibe, if you don't count the train whistle blowing on the regular - but you get used to that. The scenery is some of the best in Canada and I have very fond memories, both of Hope itself, and driving through it on my way 'out of town.' Whenever I returned back to the Lower Mainland, Hope was the 'one more hour to drive' marker. One of the quaintest things about it is the amazing wood carvings and I spent a whole day driving around to take photos of them. Their chainsaw carving contest is a big draw during the Brigade Days festival. Belle texted me yesterday about the smoke in her neck of the woods due to the forest fire. *gulp* 👀 👇
