The ghost and goblins celebration has arrived! It took a full three minutes in the car this morning before Ghostbusters, Thriller or The Monster Mash came on. That must be some kind of record. Thriller was the winner and, in my humble opinion, it always should be so. Mancub will be out trick o' treating with his buddies tonight and I've been tasked with making his costume and doing his make-up. It's exciting to once again transform him into a Zombie fright. Fingers crossed (or they'll rot off.) Edited to add photos of him below, recreated. I destroyed a Tommy Hilfiger dress shirt that cost $3.00 at the thrift store with coffee grounds, soy sauce, red craft paint and used his Momma's cosmetics and hair products. He's thrilled. Priceless.
One thing I will be happy to see the last of for another year is the halloween emails. For at least six weeks they've been coming fast and furious. So many emails. So many ghosts and pumpkins and lame subject lines. How many times can one read "Spook-tacular Sale" before declaring one is not having a Happy Halloween? As for "No Tricks - Only Treats" frankly, your prices say otherwise. Shout-out to Sobey's for the most original: "Let's Give Them Pumpkin To Talk About." Moi does appreciate a good musical pun.
Tidbits from the email stash:
- The Superior Witches surprised Sault St. Marie, Ontario Walmart shoppers with a flash mob. There's a link to video of them and their rides in the article. Girls just wanna have fun!
- The Economics of Halloween
- Learn about the History of Halloween
- Homemade Halloween Treats for the Kittehs
- A Dating Site for Ghosts -- Witches and Vampires Not Welcome
My blog, so I get to indulge myself with sweet memories: Kitty & McHeaty doing the pumpkin prep and Belle giving face in the costume she hated with the fire of a thousand suns. She worked it though. Finally, Mancub, then and now.
