Too many to pix to save on the laptop but I'm too spent to add commentary right now. My first post of the procession through London after the Queen's funeral service at Westminster Abbey is here.

Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II - London
Oh, I have thoughts. And feels.
I'll add here as the day goes on, but for now...the BBC is doing a stellar job with the coverage.

Whew. Words fail and pictures don't convey the stunning spectacle thus far. Nobody could pull off what the United Kingdom has done today. Flawless.
We've been told countless times that her majesty was involved in every aspect of her funeral, but I couldn't help wondering if she ever could have truly understood the scope of the public's reaction to her passing. The depth of emotion evoked by the sheer scale of pageantry, in vivid colour and accessible to millions as it happened, would be hard to imagine. One would be hard-pressed not to have experienced surreal moments, snippets of believing it was actually a perfect Hollywood production, while watching from afar. Echos of history could be heard in each note of pipers, trumpets and marching boots in perfect rhythm. This is the visual proof of why the UK was an Empire. She won't give up hold easily.
The funeral cortege has now left London for the final time as Princess Anne escorts her mother on the final journey home to Windsor. The family must be completely drained. Photos may not be in correct chronological order.

PM Justin Trudeau on QEII
It's easy to forget what a young nation Canada really is. Imagine what it must have been like for her majesty when this child of one of the Commonweath countries' Prime Ministers, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, grew up and became PM himself? A special relationship, indeed.
You Know What Day It Is
In case you're wondering how my day is going so far, at 6 am I put this on the door leading to our parking lot, and my neighbours sleep too gotdam late. Someone will take pity on me...it's just a matter of time. Tick, tock, people, I may have a coffee problem. The car should be fixed by the end of the week and I CAN.NOT wait to have my independence back!
Belle is in the process of making a big career change and has a huge opportunity within her grasp. She's just waiting for the final offer but the feedback has been excellent. I'm so excited for her. It would mean relocating to another city, closer but not close enough, Mama laments quietly. It couldn't come at a better time because she texted me after I was asleep that her landlord finally got and accepted an offer on the condo she's renting. She has a lot on her plate. All my fingers and toes are crossed for my little girl. We were discussing how she'll need to update her wardrobe so I've been doing a lot of online personal shopping, and naturally found things she doesn't need, but I now do:
Wouldn't you know it, they don't deliver to Canada! But they have so many cute things at great prices and with the holiday season coming up my American friends should check it out for their daughters and wives. What does Jane have against us?!?!
Update: I accidentally lost this whole post and had to start over, my embeds are misbehaving, I lost the link to a video, Blogger won't let me preview the whole post before publishing, the formatting got funky so the battle continues, and the neighbours are still too quiet. If somebody doesn't wake up soon, this could be me very shortly:
